Spring Break

Well this past week was Spring Break for my school. While I didn't have any awesomely amazing adventures, it was still a fun week. The Saturday before it I went to see the movie 12 Rounds. I enjoyed this movie a lot. I've seen a lot of movies that are supposed to keep you on the edge of your seat and this movie does it just as good as any other one, if not better. From beginning to end the movie is non-stop and extremely fast-paced. The plot, a veteran cop combats a mass weapons broker/mass murderer through a series of 12 different rounds with the prize being the cop's wife, is very clever as well. The only down side, in my opinion, is the amount of language. Not as bad as some movies, but still a little much. Sunday was Palm Sunday and it and the following Monday passed with little action. Monday night, however, I went to my best friend, James (or Minick as I call him [it's his last name]). We were planning on filming parts of our movie the next day. Our filmer (Nelson) and main character (Kyle) spent the night as well. The following morning we met up with the third of our heroes (Micah), with me and Kyle being the first two. We spent the whole day filming, including an awesome chicken fight scene. Minick was in a chicken suit fighting Kyle, it wasn't actually a chicken fight.

Anyway, that night I went to a birthday party for two of my Junior friends (they are twins). Wednesday didn't do much. Thursday was fun though. It was the day before my birthday. We had baseball practice early, then I had the party that night. Around thirty of my friends showed up, so it was pretty cool. Then Friday, I turned 18!!! I went to eat lunch with my family then that night went to see another movie: Dragonball Evolution.

If you were a fan of the show, as I was, then this movie is... tolerable at best. If you had never watched a single episode of Dragonball, Z or otherwise, then the story may be hard to follow. I know I understood it all but... I still think they could have explained a lot more. The movie lacked a sense of epicness and the whole thing felt rushed. The main villian, Piccolo, just wasn't evil enough for me. All in all, it wasn't bad per se, but it wasnt't good either. I left the theater feeling that there was so much more that could have been done with it. They did everthing with the normal Hero's Journey right but it just felt lacking in every aspect. It is a film that was neither good nor bad enough to be remebered. The only way I feel they could redeem it was if, and it's a BIG if, they made more films and turned it into a franchise that spread into the Dragonball Z series and explained more of the backstories and made the characters more real. As of now though, the only memorable thing from Dragonball is the hair-styles...

Saturday we had a baseball game that we screwed up in the 7th inning and lost... Oh well, I'm about tired of baseball anyway. It's my least favorite of the three sports I play. Now we're here to Sunday. I went to see Monsters vs. Aliens with my lil bro. It was funny, but not as hilarious as I had heard. I still enjoyed it though and would definatly recommend it to watch as a family film.

School starts back tomorrow. I'm dreading it, but at the same time, I know it won't be too bad. Just about one month of high school left. I better enjoy it while it lasts...

My Story

Ok well recently I've been informed by a very smart and literature-savvy individual that she wouldn't post this story online if she was me because it has potential, so... until further notice I won't be posting it online anymore. So if you're interested in reading it then either email me about it or ask me about it in person the next time you me...

But remember...
My favorite number of the alphabet is green!!!

Why?

Why do we do the things we do? Why do we keep coming back? Why are we blind to the truth? Or, do we see the truth yet choose to ignore it? These are the questions running through my mind. I don't know the answers. Sometimes, I feel that I don't want to know. What if the answers scare me even more than the questions? There are things we think will last forever. That they will never end. And then, of course, they end. So, why do we even become attached? If it will one day be ripped away anyway, then why let it get inside you deep enough that it hurts when its ripped out. Why do I even type this? Why do I care enough to give it any thought? Why do I let it hurt me?

Why?

Because......

I
CARE

Even when all this goes against me and I don't know the answers, I will always care. To care is to get hurt. But that's something we must come to terms with. I know caring will lead to hurting.. but that's part of the Journey. A Journey I must take. Am taking. Even as we speak I choose a path on a crossroad. I choose to care. Whatever the truth may be, I will find it eventually. If it turns out to lie on another path I will follow that path. But even when I am confused about my path and utterly lost it will be ok. Because my Father will guide me in the right direction. He knows the paths. He won't lead me astray but rather to the Truth.

Why?

Because HE CARES ABOUT ME!

Revenge of the Fallen

Ok so I'm officialy excited about Book 4. But I'm also very excited about something else coming out soon. Something that has a release date. June 24 2009 to be exact. TRANSFORMERS 2: Revenge of the Fallen. Actually I'm not sure if the '2' is part of the title but... Anyway I'm geeking out about this either way. The first one was awesome, in every sense of the word. The special effects are the most easily recognizable stand-out of the movie, of course. And while that is true, they even raised the bar for future movies, what stood out most to me is the storyline. I was amazed how they so smoothly integrated their own new plot with the original Transformers backstory and characters. And even though I'm definatley not a critic, the acting was great to me too. The scenes with Shia Lebouf (sp?) and Megan Fox flowed execptionally well and were just plain fun to watch. Anyways.. I know I'm kinda late for a review (however pathetic) of this movie but.. Get over it. On the bright side, only 9 weeks and 5 days until Revenge of the Fallen hits the silver screen. Fingers crossed in hopes that its as good as the first!

Oh and by the way, go to Google, type: find Chuck Norris, and click 'I'm Feeling Lucky'. Just do it,ok?

Book 4 Underway

To start off let me say I love the Inheritance Cycle and Christopher Paolini. The first three books in his masterpiece were amazing (in my opinion). The first time I picked up Eragon I fell in love. Paolini has a wonderful ability to keep the reader turning pages, unable to put the book down. Luckily for me when I first read Eragon, the second book in his Cycle (at this point it was actually still a trilogy), Eldest was already out and I went straight to that. It was even better than the first. Then we had the three LONG years to wait until the third book arrived. During that time thousands of fans, including myself, devoured every tidbit of information that was divulged about Book 3, until finally we were given a title: BRISINGR, the Ancient Language word for 'fire'. Then on September 20 it was released and I picked up my copy. I wanted to linger in it and enjoy it but my curiosity got the best of me and I had finished the book within three days. Even so it was easily the best book I've read in a long time, maybe since The Lord of the Rings. And so we were forced to wait again. This time for Book 4. And now we are given our first new bit of info about it. Paolini has officially begun work on Book 4! It is with the utmost excitement and thrill I wait for its arrival!
